After a devastating divorce, Peyton Crown is finally surfacing from a dark hole of despair. She finds herself hoping for a new life with Mason ‘Storm’ Starr, her brother’s best friend.

Storm’s intent is simple: hide in the quiet confines of his best friend’s family horse ranch in Kentucky. The perfect place to sort out his life after walking away from the Army, and fight his internal demons. His solitude is interrupted by his buddy’s little sister. The chemistry between them is off the charts, and he willing surrenders the battle.

The Crown family begins receiving threats, just weeks before the Kentucky Derby. The overprotective men in Peyton’s life vow to keep 24/7 tabs on her and the family’s prize horse—Prince Bourbonville—a hopeful for the next Triple Crown. Circumstances arise that threaten to keep Peyton and Prince away from the derby, but Storm and her brother Coach are determined they’ll attend, no matter the sacrifice.

Tell us about your family.
I grew up on a horse farm in Bourbonville Kentucky which is located just outside of Louisville. I have three older brothers who are all overprotective, especially since my mother died.  I was in high school when my mother passed away.  It was absolutely devastating.  My Dad is a kind and caring man, but also a shrewd business man.
What do you think was left unsettled in your story?
My brother Jerimiah 'Coach' Crown, bless his heart, needs to find a woman–someone who will make him happy.
If you could change anything about your story what would it be?

I would have made a move for Storm far sooner than I did.  So much valuable time was wasted. Time that I could have spent with him.

When Darcelle Lebeau throws off the invisible chains that keep her bound to her family, she discovers a new vocation. Tempted to enter the illegal playground of a man she nicknames Matou, she becomes a cat burglar in training. Deeply ensnared with each task he entices her to fulfill, she fails to discover his identity and true intentions.
Sebastian St. Croix, a wealthy businessman, has a dark side. He’s a thief, a cat burglar who steals art and historical objects. For one year, he trains Darcelle to become his assistant, remaining incognito, observing her from afar. His admiration grows along with his desire for her with every phase-one challenge she completes. Phase two will test the limits of his control. Hands-on personal training? Yes. Sex? No. With his sister’s happiness at stake, nothing, not even the tempting Darcelle Lebeau, can interfere with accomplishing the biggest break-in of his career.

Excerpt:
Darcelle’s reflection stared back at her from the solid mirror that covered the side of the Jepsen Building where she hung, suspended twelve hundred feet above the city sidewalk. Anger and determination filled the charcoal-gray eyes of her mirror image. Even as an infant, the darkness integral to her nature must have peered out of round, solemn baby eyes that weren’t the expected dark brown of her mother and father or the amber of her twin sister. No, she’d been born with eyes best described as a grayish mist. With each passing year, they’d grown darker. Someday they might rival the night sky that tonight was a wash of black pushed back by the ineffectual streetlights below and the pale serenity of a waning moon. The skull cap she wore covered the braids she’d used to tame her masses of kinky cinnamon curls.
No breeze stirred the night air, for which she was thankful. The micro-cable anchored to the sidewalk didn’t allow for much sway as the winch above pulled her higher. The noise of traffic wafted up like a soundtrack to another reality.
She swung a leg over the ledge surrounding the roof of the building. Sunrise was less than an hour away, but for now, the wealthy residents of the Jepsen slept below her, convinced that the security they spent thousands of credits on created an impenetrable barrier around them. She smirked, satisfied she was about to prove them wrong. The latest antiskimmer technology may prevent aircars from landing, but it didn’t keep out birds or, as in her case, people who avoided the domed security field by slipping under it at the edge of the building’s roof.
Security plans always had holes. Her day job at the Art et Antiquités Institut de la Sécurité was to close those she discovered in her client’s protection profiles, or at least render them too small to be exploited. Your average cat burglar couldn’t accomplish what she was attempting. The mirrored facade of the building resisted any attachments, so any of the standard slick surface anchors were worthless, as were the nonslip soles of her shoes. It was worse than trying to climb on ice.
Over the last year Darcelle had honed her skills to surpass those of the typical thief. The instructions she received before each job had included training exercises and detailed steps for committing each robbery. It was as though she was being mentored by a master thief, a man she’d never seen much less met or spoken with. Notes were his sole means of communication, written in a flowing script that was both masculine and artistic.
This was the most difficult assignment she’d received. She couldn’t land on the top of the building, she couldn’t climb the side, and attempting to penetrate through an entrance was equally impossible. Not a problem.
The surface of the roof was covered in fine-grain sand. She dropped from the ledge, squatting to avoid skidding and falling on her ass. The bands of her harness burned as though they were embedded in her skin. She snapped the releases and pulled the harness off, rubbing between her legs and over her lower butt cheeks. The painful part of this operation was over. She let the harness fall next to the winch. When the break-in was discovered, they’d find the hoist chem-sealed to the ledge of the Jepsen’s roof. Let the security guards figure that out. It hadn’t taken her long the previous night to use a gravity drone to slip it under the security field and drop it onto the ledge. The breakable containers filled with chems on the winch’s underside had smashed, allowing the contents to mix and bond the winch to the stone, and the hoist had been ready to use.
She turned, squinting across the roof at an aircar circling in the distance. Time to get indoors.

Excerpt:

Emily and Antonio met by pure chance. She had been thinking of their meeting just as much as she had been thinking of their past, mostly because she was thinking of a future with him. She was thinking of a future with him because of another huge secret she was holding from him.
She sighed and closed her eyes. God, she had so much to tell him. She just prayed the man would understand. Then again, he was a killer as well, with a code as strong as her own. She lay in their bed and waited for him. As soon as he entered the room, all thoughts of telling him anything flew out the door and instead she knew he needed to simply forget. They had been together for five months, in that time they hadn’t used protection from the first moment they got together which brought her to the thoughts she was having about their futures now.
That was the thing about them sharing professions. She could read his body language better than he likely knew she could. Emily rose to her feet and walked to Tony. As she moved toward him, she stripped out of her negligée and stood before him in all her naked glory. She knew what he saw. Emily wasn’t shy about her body any longer. She now embraced her womanly attributes, and that was all thanks to Antonio.
She had scars, ones that couldn’t be hidden but had been explained away easily enough with the smallest of lies, ones she had hated to tell him and couldn’t wait to tell him the truth on. As he had told her before, her breasts were the size of ripe grapefruits, her skin a pale milk color, and her hair as red as fire. Or so he liked to tell her.
She moved to Tony silently and began to strip him of his clothes, loving the way her pale skin looked against his very dark skin. Sliding Tony’s shirt from his body, she scraped her nails over his beautifully toned six pack abs and looked up into his troubled eyes. “Hard day?” she asked while working on his pants.
She felt emboldened by this man. It was hard to imagine that before him she had been a virgin. She had killed a hundred horrible men but never had taken a lover. Tony had been intense, wonderful, and she had known from the moment she met him that he was the one for her.
“You have no idea, sweetheart.” Tony took her hand in his and shook his head. “You know that is not how I play.” He growled lightly at her and then leaned down, taking one of her nipples into his mouth and suckling hard. “I do love being greeted at the door by you naked, however. From here out I think you should greet me like this when I come home, but only when I text you and tell you I’m coming home alone. I would hate to kill a friend who saw my woman naked.”
She shivered. Had any other man demanded anything of her like that she would kill them and leave their bodies for the cops to find. Period. She wasn’t one to be commanded, but with Tony, it turned her on. She seemed to need it. “Yes, Sir.” She bowed her head in supplication. She knew she would do anything he asked her to do. She would because she knew he would always ensure she had pleasure, no matter what. Tony would do anything for Emily just as she would for him.
“Are you hungry?”
“Only for you, Emmy girl, only for you,” Tony said only a second before he picked her up and carried her to their bedroom.
Emily held back her laughter when he tossed her on the bed, because she saw the look of sheer bleak need on his face. She reached back, grabbed the headboard, and watched him strip. He all but radiated the need to control, the need to dominate in a way that eclipsed anything they had ever shared before, and it almost scared her, almost.
Author Bio:
Having been a lover of the written word all her life April has always wanted to expand her horizons and write something that could be shared with the world. Only one thing held April back, the fact that the letters and numbers mixed and jumbled more often than not. Diagnosed with Dyslexia when she was eight years old April had to work her butt off just to be able to keep up with the other kids in reading and writing, so her love for fictional writing was tossed to the wayside for the moment.

As the endless waves of time passed the shores became less rocky and more sandy, a place where she could find an even foot. That and Microsoft invented Word. Hallelujah.
This is where April began her journey into the written world, the world that her imagination had been ceaselessly creating for her entire adult life.
Now she has been given a chance to let her literary wings unfold and fly, thanks to the amazing publisher Evernight Publishing.
Now it's time to let the dream take flight and watch it soar!

The Baby Maker by Margaret Tanner - Get your #Romance today! #HEA #LoveStories

His name and his money are the only things war hero, Tye Jamieson, can offer Jenny McKenzie and their unborn child.
Tye is an expert at making babies, but not of the human variety. His babies are sophisticated fighter planes. Now that he has made a real baby, he is desperate to protect it if his secret mission into war-torn Iraq goes bad.
When tragedy strikes, will Jenny be able to forgive him for the way he has deceived her?

EXCERPT – PG 13

Jenny McKenzie stepped into the ward hiding her anxiety behind a forced smile.
“How are you feeling now?” She bent over to kiss her grandfather who was propped up against two pillows. Her forehead brushed against his snow-white hair.
“Not too bad. Don’t look at me like that, Jenny Wren.  There’s still a bit of life left in the old dog yet.” He chuckled. “It was just a heart flutter.  I told that young whippersnapper of a doctor I’d be all right at home.”
“I thought… Well, when I got the call at work…” She blinked back tears of relief.
“If the manager hadn’t got into a panic when I fell over at the shopping center and called an ambulance, I wouldn’t even be here. Now they want to do tests, and I’ll probably be stuck here for weeks,” he grumbled.  “You know what these medical people are like. Once they get you in their clutches they turn you into a guinea pig.”
Jenny sat on the bed and picked up one of his gnarled hands, cradling it between her own. Fingers, calloused and wrinkled with age, entwined with her white youthful ones.
“What do you think of my granddaughter, Tye? She’s quite a girl, eh?”  Smiling proudly, Angus McKenzie waved his hand toward the other occupant in the ward. “Fancy me sharing a room with a celebrity.”
Jenny turned her head and received the shock of her life.  Tyler Jamieson, famous American test pilot and Gulf war hero lounged on the other bed.
“H…Hello, Tye.”
“Hi, Jenny.” He flashed a devastating smile that caused her heart to flutter. His deep, well modulated voice held the slightest American accent.  His eyes, deep amethyst in color, flicked over her then returned to reading his book, as if he wasn’t impressed with what he saw. And why would he be? Compared to the international models and starlets he favored, Jenny McKenzie was a nonentity.
It had been headline news. A devastating accident that had fractured his leg and pelvis eighteen months ago, had put him in hospital for weeks. She had devoured every word of it.  Minutely studied his picture, fell in love with it, and him.  Instead of ejecting from his fighter jet when one of the engines caught fire, he flew it away from the populated areas, crash landing on a country road.  There was talk for a time that he might end up a paraplegic. Why was he back in hospital?
The well-shaped, sensuous lips suddenly drew into a thin harsh line, emphasizing the deep grooves running along either side of his mouth. He was angry and she didn’t know why.  Had he noticed the electrifying effect he had on her? Could he guess that he was the type of man she had been hoping to meet for most of her life?

Author Bio

Margaret Tanner is an award winning, multi-published Australian author, who writes Contemporary Romance, Historical Romance and Western Romance. She loves delving into the pages of history as she carries out research for her historical romance novels. No book is too old or tattered for her to trawl through, no museum too dusty. Many of her novels have been inspired by true events, with one being written around the hardships and triumphs of her pioneering ancestors in frontier Australia. She once spent a couple of hours in an old goal cell so she could feel the chilling cold and fear.
Her favorite historical period is the 1st World War, and she has visited the battlefields in France and Belgium, a truly poignant experience.
With the encouragement of friend and Western Romance author, Susan Horsnell, she has fallen in love with writing Western Historical Romance.  Frontier Australia and frontier America, have many similarities, isolated communities, a large single male population and a lack of eligible women.
Margaret has a short story published in the Western Romance Anthology, Rawhide ‘N Roses which was a 2015 Rone Finalist.
Margaret was also thrilled and excited to be invited to contribute a novella in the ground breaking series American Mail Order Brides. 50 brides from 50 different States in America, from 45 different authors. Her contribution is Edwina – Bride of Connecticut, Book No. 5 in the series.
Margaret is married and has three grown up sons, and a gorgeous little granddaughter.
Outside of her family and friends, writing is her passion.

On A Knife’s Edge by @AuthorLyndaB #Suspense #Action #Romance #BookTour #Amazon #Kindle

On a Knife's Edge
She was once his sweet salvation…
Lynch Callan has been a dead man walking most of his life—nothing out of the ordinary for a member of the 5th Street biker gang. There was a brief period, though, when she made him believe he could be more. That he could be worthy of her, and her love. To protect her, and keep their relationship from being discovered, he went to prison. Except now the Streeters are in danger. But in order to save his crew, he must first betray them. If caught, he’ll end up dead for sure. It’ll be the mother of all balancing acts—especially with her in the picture. But Lynch will do whatever is necessary to protect the people he loves.
He was once her deepest desire… Shasta Albright doesn’t break the rules. Not anymore. As an unruly teenager, she defied her family at every turn…even secretly befriending, then dating, then falling in love with a bad boy Streeter. Finally her recklessness caught up with her—with lasting and even dire consequences. Now she leads a pristine existence, always staying within the lines and keeping her secrets hidden. That is until he gets released from prison. Can Shasta hold her perfect world together, or will everything get hurled into chaos?
With young girls going missing, the sleepy town of Stardust, Nevada becomes an unlikely epicenter for an illicit slave trade—with Shasta and Lynch caught in the middle. Amidst the rising body count, they fight to keep their loved ones—and each other—safe. A single slipup could have deadly repercussions. It’s an untenable and treacherous position. Much like walking On a Knife’s Edge…

Excerpt #2 – adult only…
Lynch broke the kiss and grasped the pull tab of the sweatshirt zipper. With purposefully slowness, he lowered it. He bore his gaze into hers, giving Shasta the chance to stop him. She just stared at him with eyes so huge, so round, he thought he’d die within their brown depths.
Once the jacket hung open, he flicked it off her shoulders then skimmed the t-shirt up her torso. She lifted her arms and he pulled the shirt over her head.
He snagged her wrists. “Keep ‘em up, kay?”
Her delicate throat muscles labored as she nodded.
He ghosted his palms over her sports bra then wormed his fingers under the bottom. Still holding her gaze, he tugged it up. She licked her lips and her arms quivered slightly, but didn’t lower. Within seconds, her breasts were bared. He devoured them with his gaze.
They were flawless. The perfect size with two perfectly pearled nipples.
He outlined one areola with his finger. Her body trembled. He shifted her position so she laid prone on the seat, her feet near the handlebars and her head resting on the passenger cushion.
He kissed her again. His balls ached and his cock pounded at twice his heart rate. His hand molded around one breast. The satiny feel sent another shaft of hunger through his blood.
He kissed her eyes closed before nipping his way to her ticklish earlobe. Goose bumps erupted across her skin and her body arched toward him. His mouth journeyed down her delectable flesh to lick the velvet hollow of her neck, then down farther to a rigid nipple. Her body went completely still—almost like she’d stopped breathing—as his lips closed over the puckered crest.
Lynch stroked his tongue over the peak while his hand skimmed across her flat belly to the snug waistband of her jogging shorts.
Shasta braced her heels on the handlebars and elevated her hips. Lynch pulled while she wiggled. At last, he peeled the offending garment off one leg then the other, along with her running shoes. He replaced her socked feet to the outside edge of the handgrips.
Air back up in his chest as he feasted on her spread before him in all her naked glory. Her skin held a slight rosy hue and her earthy, sexy scent filled his senses. Her nest of pussy hair tightened the knot in his belly. He never dreamed he’d see her like this again.
He again gently gripped her wrists and placed her hands on the passenger seat. “You best hold on, Shaly,” he croaked.

About Lynda…

I have no doubt I was born a storyteller.

I remember telling my first “story” in kindergarten. I informed my teacher, Mrs. Downing, that my mom had just had a baby boy. She hadn’t, of course, and while I got thoroughly admonished for my “storytelling,” I wasn’t deterred from what would become a lifelong passion.

From making up tales as a kid which centered around my favorite TV shows to today, I love telling stories! Stories with handsome guys and spunky gals, that always…always end with a happily-ever-after.

My romances are full of passion, with heat levels that range from hot to sizzling! I've been a finalist in numerous writing contests, including RWA’s® prestigious Golden Heart® in 2010. Please join me for laughter, love and that all important HEA.
