STORY EXCERPT

Kos and Rite stepped into the ship. Mitch followed them. He watched their every move. They kept their hands at their sides. Dean took them to the rec room. He pointed to the table and the two chairs around it. They had extra seating, but didn’t think they’d need it. This meeting shouldn’t take long.
“Now, tell us how you knew our location and what you’re after. Don’t expect us to believe you’re here to help. You work for another company. They wouldn’t approve.” Dean leaned against the wall and folded his arms across his chest.
“We are here to help. The company we work for has nothing to do with it. We’re hunting a bounty for them. That’s all they care about. We found someone to hunt here because Grant asked us to be here to back you up.” Kos stopped near the table but didn’t take a seat.
Mitch couldn’t be happier that his mask hid his face. His mouth hung open. How the hell did they know his father’s name?
“‘Grant’ is supposed to mean something to us?” Dean’s voice sounded calm and void of any recognition of the name.
“You know your father’s name. You are also aware he’s the man who co-owns the company you work for.” Rite shook his head. “Don’t be such a suspicious ass. We may have enjoyed giving you a little trouble in the past, but this is something else entirely. We found you because he’s worried about you. Nothing more.”
“And why would you care if he’s worried?” Mitch voiced the question that kept popping into his head. His father had never spoken of Kos and Rite. How did they know him?
“Because he’s one of the few men I respect. Give me a moment. When you see who we are, it will explain everything.” Kos reached up to the fastenings that secured his mask.
That didn’t look like it could be ripped off. If he thought it necessary to secure it against being taken off by others, Kos would key the fastenings to his DNA or biorhythms. Mitch used a similar method on his mask.
From what Kos said, they knew these people by sight. Who could it be? Mitch couldn’t think of one person who had the build and short stature to be either of those two.
The person didn’t take off the mask like he expected them to. Kos grabbed the mask and pulled out and then up. A full head mask came with it. He hadn’t realized. With the mask on, it looked like the person had blond hair, but as it came off, the disguise became apparent. He frowned. The mask hid more than he’d thought. The stocking-like bottom finally cleared the head. A braid fell out first. The long black hair stymied him, but it could be why the person wore a hood. Some people would use long hair as a means of control on them.
The hood finally pulled free, revealing pale creamy skin. His gaze traced over soft curves of a delightfully rounded face. Recognition slammed through him.
“Brigitte!” Mitch took a step forward. He hadn’t expected to see her. Hell, he hadn’t known she’d started bounty hunting.
She had the training. Everyone in both of their families trained for the business, but she’d walked away from the Astral Hunters years ago. He looked at the person standing beside Brigitte. Since Brigitte stood there, the person beside her had to be Aileen. Most of the time, those two jumped into trouble together.
“Now, you know why your father thought we’d be interested in watching your back.” Brigitte put her mask down on the table.
“Is that Aileen?” Dean asked.
“Yeah, it’s me.” Aileen removed her mask. “I knew if Dad worried, he had a reason.”
Mitch shrugged. He didn’t know what worried his father. They’d handled multiple captures before, but his father’s doubt in their abilities didn’t hold his attention at the moment. Brigitte had all of it with her mere presence.
“Yeah, seems he doesn’t think you two are working so well together lately. Plus, there are a couple of your marks he’s afraid are going to team up together. He wants you to have someone watching your back.” Brigitte caught Aileen’s mask as it sailed through the air.
He hesitated. He’d said a lot of hurtful things to her. Well, both he and Dean had. They’d been stunned and off-balance. They shouldn’t have believed her brother, Carter’s, accusation. He wished they could avoid the more awkward part, but they did need to apologize for giving her such a bad time.
“You said you had a bounty to hunt and you wouldn’t be stealing from us. Who are you after?” Mitch asked. Nothing like avoiding the issue, but he didn’t want to see the smile wiped away from Brigitte’s curved lips.
“Our mark isn’t your style. You go for the violent criminals. We knew the white-collar criminal we’re after wouldn’t be on your list. Part of why we picked her.” Brigitte shrugged.
“And the other part?” Dean asked.
“The fucking huge bounty.” Aileen grinned. “If we can get her, we’ll have a nice chunk to play with even after the company gets its piece.”

The Baby Maker by Margaret Tanner - Get your #Romance today! #HEA #LoveStories

His name and his money are the only things war hero, Tye Jamieson, can offer Jenny McKenzie and their unborn child.
Tye is an expert at making babies, but not of the human variety. His babies are sophisticated fighter planes. Now that he has made a real baby, he is desperate to protect it if his secret mission into war-torn Iraq goes bad.
When tragedy strikes, will Jenny be able to forgive him for the way he has deceived her?

EXCERPT – PG 13

Jenny McKenzie stepped into the ward hiding her anxiety behind a forced smile.
“How are you feeling now?” She bent over to kiss her grandfather who was propped up against two pillows. Her forehead brushed against his snow-white hair.
“Not too bad. Don’t look at me like that, Jenny Wren.  There’s still a bit of life left in the old dog yet.” He chuckled. “It was just a heart flutter.  I told that young whippersnapper of a doctor I’d be all right at home.”
“I thought… Well, when I got the call at work…” She blinked back tears of relief.
“If the manager hadn’t got into a panic when I fell over at the shopping center and called an ambulance, I wouldn’t even be here. Now they want to do tests, and I’ll probably be stuck here for weeks,” he grumbled.  “You know what these medical people are like. Once they get you in their clutches they turn you into a guinea pig.”
Jenny sat on the bed and picked up one of his gnarled hands, cradling it between her own. Fingers, calloused and wrinkled with age, entwined with her white youthful ones.
“What do you think of my granddaughter, Tye? She’s quite a girl, eh?”  Smiling proudly, Angus McKenzie waved his hand toward the other occupant in the ward. “Fancy me sharing a room with a celebrity.”
Jenny turned her head and received the shock of her life.  Tyler Jamieson, famous American test pilot and Gulf war hero lounged on the other bed.
“H…Hello, Tye.”
“Hi, Jenny.” He flashed a devastating smile that caused her heart to flutter. His deep, well modulated voice held the slightest American accent.  His eyes, deep amethyst in color, flicked over her then returned to reading his book, as if he wasn’t impressed with what he saw. And why would he be? Compared to the international models and starlets he favored, Jenny McKenzie was a nonentity.
It had been headline news. A devastating accident that had fractured his leg and pelvis eighteen months ago, had put him in hospital for weeks. She had devoured every word of it.  Minutely studied his picture, fell in love with it, and him.  Instead of ejecting from his fighter jet when one of the engines caught fire, he flew it away from the populated areas, crash landing on a country road.  There was talk for a time that he might end up a paraplegic. Why was he back in hospital?
The well-shaped, sensuous lips suddenly drew into a thin harsh line, emphasizing the deep grooves running along either side of his mouth. He was angry and she didn’t know why.  Had he noticed the electrifying effect he had on her? Could he guess that he was the type of man she had been hoping to meet for most of her life?

Author Bio

Margaret Tanner is an award winning, multi-published Australian author, who writes Contemporary Romance, Historical Romance and Western Romance. She loves delving into the pages of history as she carries out research for her historical romance novels. No book is too old or tattered for her to trawl through, no museum too dusty. Many of her novels have been inspired by true events, with one being written around the hardships and triumphs of her pioneering ancestors in frontier Australia. She once spent a couple of hours in an old goal cell so she could feel the chilling cold and fear.
Her favorite historical period is the 1st World War, and she has visited the battlefields in France and Belgium, a truly poignant experience.
With the encouragement of friend and Western Romance author, Susan Horsnell, she has fallen in love with writing Western Historical Romance.  Frontier Australia and frontier America, have many similarities, isolated communities, a large single male population and a lack of eligible women.
Margaret has a short story published in the Western Romance Anthology, Rawhide ‘N Roses which was a 2015 Rone Finalist.
Margaret was also thrilled and excited to be invited to contribute a novella in the ground breaking series American Mail Order Brides. 50 brides from 50 different States in America, from 45 different authors. Her contribution is Edwina – Bride of Connecticut, Book No. 5 in the series.
Margaret is married and has three grown up sons, and a gorgeous little granddaughter.
Outside of her family and friends, writing is her passion.

Background to the story
Prometheus in Chains no 13 and the latest episode in the lives of Master Angus and his Jane

STORY EXCERPT:
They arrived at Prometheus in Chains in a very happy mood, after a delicious Italian meal. Angus and Eric parked side by side, and they followed their subs into the club. Jane and Emma went into the ladies' locker room to get dressed, and the two Doms entered the main room. Angus looked around and breathed in deeply. He loved the sights, sounds, and smells of the place. Prometheus had the furniture polished with lavender wax because it reminded him of his mother’s house. Angus loved the smell, because it brought back happy memories of his childhood, too. He loved the slap of paddles on flesh, the screams or moans of the subs, and the smells of wood, leather, and sex. The subs were all in bright-coloured corsets tonight, like a flock of birds of paradise. Llewellyn had his latest class gathered around the raised area, where a demonstration of Kinbaku was taking place. They were all looking on in fascination as the Rope Master bound his sub with a dark-green rope that contrasted very well with his lightly tanned skin. Knowing Llewellyn as he did, that wouldn’t be the end of it. They’d have a clip board soon and would be interviewing the Dom and the sub. Angus smiled. The next generation of Doms and subs were in the best possible hands. One of the subs, seen from the back, looked familiar to him, but he couldn’t place him, maybe when he turned around, he’d recognise him. He was standing next to Niall, whom Angus did recognise. Just then Jane and Emma arrived.
“Goodness, what’s Jaimie doing here,” Jane asked.
“I knew he was familiar, but I couldn’t place him. You can catch him in the subs’ area and find out,” Angus suggested. Then he and Eric escorted their subs to the bar, where Prometheus and Jenny joined them.
“Jane, what a wonderful idea you had. Melanie is setting up the crèche and training some of the younger subs to help. The equipment will be stored in that old office, but the crèche will be in here on the day of the subs’ tea. She suggested that both mothers and babies would be happier if they could see and hear each other to start with. After that we shall see how it goes. It will be wonderful to chat with everyone and not have to keep haring after young Thomas. Melanie will partition off a corner of the room and everyone who has children has contributed some equipment. Let’s hope it’s a success.
“Eric, I need a word, can you come too, Angus?” Prometheus asked. The three Doms set off for Prometheus’s office.

* * * *

Emma and Jenny looked at Jane.
“Isn’t that just typical? We have a night out, and they need to talk business. Let’s go and sit in the subs’ area. There are some new members, and we can find out all about them,” Jenny said.
“Little Miss Snoopy-Pants,” Jane said and giggled, and then she linked arms with them. “Yes, do let’s go find out.”
Emma helped Jane down the steps to the sunken area where the subs gathered when not doing a scene. Llewellyn’s new subs were there, Jaimie amongst them. He stood up and hugged Jane.
“Jaimie, how lovely to see you! How are you? What on earth are you doing here?”
“Hello, Jane. I’m here because of Niall. We’re an item. He’s such a gorgeous hunk.”
“Hang on a bit. Slow down and do tell all," Jane said.
“Well, after your nice meal, I went back to see the flat. He helped me with my stuff and we arranged it together. We had a carryout in front of the TV, and talked for hours. We have so much in common. Over the next couple of weeks we er…got close and…”
“It’s okay, Jaimie," Emma said in encouragement. "Nothing can make us blush. Do tell all."
“Okay. Well he’s drop-dead-gorgeous, and one thing led to another, and before I knew what was happening I was tied to the bedhead. I have to say it was the most amazing sex I’ve ever had, but I expect you all know about that.”
“Yes, we do,” Jenny said. “Doms will be Doms, after all.”
“Well, after that, I did a lot of research and I liked what I read,” Jaimie said.
“All of it?” Jane asked, astonished.
“No, not the most violent things.” Jaimie shuddered. “I discussed it with Niall, and he’s of the same opinion. He suggested that I come along with him as his sub to Master Llewellyn’s class to see how I got on. He’s learning to be a Dom, and I’m learning to be a sub.”
“Well that all sounds wonderful. I’m glad you’re happy. It's about time you had some good luck. I need to ask you a favour. I’m not sure that this is the right place, but here goes.

ADULT EXCERPT
Now let’s eat our sandwiches and drink our tea, then we are going home.” He handed her the plate, and she took a ham and tomato sandwich and bit into it. He took another, and soon they’d worked their way through the whole pile.” Angus sat back and sighed.
“That’s better. I always forget just how good the food is here.”
“Let me get you some cake or a scone from the subs’ tea,” Jane suggested.
“No. I’ve eaten enough. Now I intend to satisfy my other and more pressing need,” he said, and he stroked his throbbing cock, which was pressing against the zipper of his trousers in a painful manner.
“But, the Doms’ meeting and the subs’ tea…”
“Sod the subs and their tea. This zipper is going to do permanent damage to my cock if I don’t get out of these infernal trousers. Besides I want you at home and naked. I haven’t been inside you for almost a week and those 'phone sessions left me frustrated and horny as hell. Hurry up and drink your tea. I can’t wait for you to get your things and get into your car. You, mo run, are going home.”
Jane stood, her tea forgotten as she hurried as best she could to collect her things and go to her car. Angus got into his and followed her out of the carpark. Once at home he abandoned his suitcase and briefcase in the car and followed her into the house. He closed the door and took her in his arms. His mouth descended on hers, and he was lost in the heat and flames of a desire so strong that it made him tremble. This was going to be hard and fast, and to judge by the way she was squirming and wriggling against him, she wanted it that way too.
He lifted her against the wall and freed his cock. He was swollen and painful, but she was going to relieve that pain. She moaned as he stroked her tongue with his. Then he sucked, and she tightened her arms about him. She wore a short skirt and no knickers, as always. He slipped his dick into her pussy. She was wet and slick and so very hot. She grasped his cock and arched her back as he slammed into her. From this angle every stroke rubbed along the ridge that was her G-spot, and the mewling, moaning sounds she made were music to his ears. God how I’ve missed her. He tightened his hold on her. He wasn’t going to last long. He reached between them with one hand and found her clit. She kissed him with increasing passion as one of his long fingers rubbed in circles over her swollen bud. He felt its hardness and knew she was almost there. He increased the pressure as he thrust into her deeply satisfying, welcoming heat.
God, how I’ve missed her. He wouldn’t be leaving her behind ever again. His hips took on a life of their own as he felt his climax gathering. He pressed and pinched her clit, and she jerked uncontrollably in his arms. Her muscles clenched around his dick, their vice-like grip pushing him over the edge as, with a low moan of satisfaction, he came deep inside her. His legs trembled, and he staggered into the lounge with Jane in his arms.
He lowered her onto the sofa and followed her down, his cock still inside her. He knew she loved to feel his weight on top of her, so he stayed there holding her until his softening dick slid out of her and his legs regained their strength, and then he stood, pulled her to her feet, and kissed her deeply.
“I’ve missed you so much, my sweetheart,” he murmured against her hair. Her perfume intoxicated him. The smell of her arousal and his release mingled in a heady scent, and he inhaled deeply. She was his. He’d been foolish beyond belief to have doubted her, but she was his world. She was in his heart, his soul, and every waking moment she was in his thoughts. He should have realized. He should have trusted her. But she should have told him. He wanted full communication. That way there were no misunderstandings or doubts. He’d get them both cleaned up and 'phone Xander at once. His Jane was limping and in pain, and he would sort it out. Then she’d have her arse warmed for making him worried and not telling him right away.

Author bio:

I live in Dumfries and Galloway in Southern Scotland, although I was born in South Yorkshire. I spent many happy years teaching, and when I retired I became bored with just the domestic routine.

My youngest son challenged me to write a novel of my own, and I wrote Initiation, book one in the Prometheus in Chains series. Since then writing has become an important part of my life. It’s been like a roller-coaster ride, and a very pleasurable one at that. When I sent off my first book to Siren, I had no idea what I was setting in motion. I joined Facebook, something I never dreamed I’d do, but I have made many good friends on there, some readers and some fellow authors. Writing has certainly changed my life.

I would love to hear from you and I always answer e-mails or contacts on Facebook.

Xanthe’s Choice (Grey River 6) Book Tour by @MaiaDylanAuthor #Menage #PNR

Sometimes, the easiest choices are the hardest to live with

Dane Smith and Hunter Reed are lion shifters, who have been battling the fact that they have a mating bond between them that shouldn't exist. Meeting Xanthe White and recognizing her as theirs now makes it impossible for them to ignore it any longer. At first she thinks that it's just Dane and Hunter who are fated, but it soon becomes apparent that all three are destined for each other.
Despite her past, Xanthe has made a home in Grey River. Under the impression that they were helping her to reunite with her sister, Dane and Hunter place Xanthe right in the path of the very danger she was hiding from. Just as the three of them are finally on the same page, someone from Xanthe’s childhood poses a threat.
Dane and Hunter know they must keep her safe, but by the time they are able to pinpoint where the danger is coming from, it just might be too late.

Can you tell us a little bit about where you are from?  I live, love and work in beautiful New Zealand.  I love being a kiwi!  I have been extremely fortunate in my career and have travelled extensively and spent many years living abroad, but there truly is no place like home.  New Zealand is the world in one country, with fiords, mountains, rain forests, geothermal areas, beaches you can walk for miles on and never see a soul, a strong indigenous culture and a beauty that has to be seen to be believed.

When and why did you begin writing?  I only started writing properly this year.  I was on a flight to Melbourne last year and I always travel with at least three or four novels to read.  I was reading one paranormal erotic romance, and thought to myself that the ending was lacking.  Then I found myself picking it apart a little.  I was telling my husband about it later that night and he said “Well if you think you can do better, give it a go!”  So, I did.  Lost Faith is the first in the Grey River series and it was released in March this year

Do you have a specific writing style? In other words, are you a plotter or a pantser? I am a total pantser!  I tried to write one of my books with a plan to it, I spent days working on the plan, then when I went to write it, my characters had other ideas!

How did you come up with the titles to your book(s)?  I have the title before I have the story.  I have no idea how or why, but I do!  I am one of the writers whose characters plague me night and day to write their story, and the title comes very early on.

What book would we find you reading right now?  I am re-reading The League series by Sherrilyn Kenyon and also the Ghost Walker series by Christine Feehan.  I really love these authors!

What are you currently working on? Can you give us a sneak peek?  I am currently working on Grey River 7, and also book five in The Shifters of Freedom Springs, series, which is said as it is the last book in that series.  And sneak peek?  Yeah, I can do that ;-)

“Your eyes flicker a little, and there is a bluish tinge that appears,” Parris tilted her head in curiosity as he moved to stand as close to her as he dared.  “And I recognize your wolf in your eyes.”
“Yeah,” Rhys admitted, tilting his head to match hers and grinned when she giggled.  “No one’s ever noticed it before.”  Parris began to nibble on her bottom lip and Rhys’s careful plan to go slow and not to move too quickly went straight out the window.  But he didn’t want to scare her either.  “Parris, Jase and I have already told you that you are our mate.  I know you don’t know what the truly means, but we hope to show you.  We also want to have the opportunity to prove to you that we can be what you want at the same time.”  Rhys lifted his hand and gently cupped her cheek.  “Damn, you are so beautiful.”
“That she is brother,” Jase said from the doorway as he stepped into the pool area and walked toward them.  Parris’s breathing rate sped up as Jase moved in behind her, and when he gently placed his hands on her hips, Rhys felt her shiver.
“Now, in a few minutes, we are going to go upstairs and Jase and I are going to prepare dinner, and try very hard not kill you with our cooking.”  Parris giggled again, but this time the sound was slightly higher, and sounded a little breathless.  “But right now, unless you tell us to stop, I am going to kiss you because I can’t think of anything else but getting a taste of your sweet lips.”  Parris’s eyes widened and Rhys looked for any sign of fear, but saw nothing but need and desire.  “You hold all the cards, baby.  You want this to stop all you have to do is say so.  I’m going to count to five, and then I am going to place my mouth on yours and I am going to kiss you the way I’ve dreamed about since the moment I pulled you out from behind our shed.  One… two…”
“Five,” Parris whispered as she surprised him by moving into him, rising up onto her tiptoes and placing her mouth to his.  As soon as her lips touched his, everything within him seemed to fall into place. It was as if up until this moment, with this woman, there was nothing that actually held him together.  But now there was.

Do you see writing as a career? Do you write full time? Or in addition to another job?  I would love to be able to write full time!  That would be a dream come true… well, writing while I sat on a beach somewhere drinking Mai Tai’s, but definitely a dream.  At the moment there are bills to pay and kids to feed so I work full time as well.

Do you have anything else you’d like to add?  I have only been published for a few months, but I have had the pleasure of meeting so many fantastic authors who have coached and mentored me, and readers who have liked my work.  To all of you, I simply want to say thank you.  Your words, your time and your friendship humble me.  Thank you to everyone who has come with me on one of my journeys, and I hope you’ll join me on my next one!

Maia Dylan lives, loves and works in beautiful New Zealand.  She married her best friend and they have two adorable, but stubborn children who obviously take after their father.
Maia’s career has featured a lot of travel, and she has filled her time at airports and in the air with books, books and more books.  Her love of erotic paranormal romance has seen her amass a huge library.  She has been an avid reader and lover of ménage romances since she read her first book in this genre about three years ago.
In January of this year, Maia submitted her first ever manuscript to Siren Publishing.  She wasn’t at all confident that it would be accepted and in fact she was expecting a nicely worded email with a resounding no!  Much to her surprise less than two weeks later she had an acceptance and a signed contract in hand.  Since then she hasn’t looked back and currently has three books in her Grey River series set for publication.
Outside of writing, Maia loves to eat, so she loves to cook!  Her herb garden is legendary, but she still has issues getting tomatoes to grow.  She’s been a performer for years, and has even sung on international stages, she would love to own a classic Ford Mustang one day and of course have the opportunity to race it on a race track without fear of a speeding ticket.
Although ultimately her dream is to be able to write full time on a sandy beach with a Mai Tai at hand, she is quite happy to fit her writing in when she can.  As long as someone reads her books, gets a laugh and maybe come to love her characters and much as she does, then she feels that she is living her dreams no matter what!
